F&F MILESTONE: JASON KIDD REACHES 10,148 AST

Kidd is No. 3 on all-time list: Dallas guard Jason Kidd had 19 points, a season-high 20 assists and a major career milestone — all in three quarters — while leading the Dallas Mavericks to a 140-116 victory over Phoenix that virtually assures Dallas of a playoff spot and puts the Suns in a vulnerable position.

The top eight teams in each conference advance to the playoffs. Dallas, eighth in the West, has a four-game lead on the Suns with five games left.

Phoenix's loss guaranteed Portland a playoff berth.

Kidd passed Magic Johnson for third on the career assists list. Johnson had 10,141 assists. Kidd's 14th assist gave him 10,142 and he ended the game with 10,148.

Kidd, 36, received a standing ovation. Among those on their feet: broadcaster Mark Jackson, who is No. 2 on the list with 10,334. John Stockton has the record of 15,806 assists.

UNTIL HE'S DONE...STILL THE BEST PG IN THE LEAGUE!!!
