THINK PINK NIKE ZOOM KOBE IV HYPERDUNK

I really hadn't heard much about Kay Yow and her cause until stumbling across these Nike Think Pink sneaker releases however I'm saddened and in a way relieved for the long suffering patient and her family to hear that she has recently passed away after a long, tough battle with Breast Cancer. Nike is doing it's part to spread awareness of the disease by supporting 'the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund' via donation of proceeds from all sales of the Nike HyperDunk and Bluechip Think Pink sneakers in dedication to Kay, the former coach of the NC State women’s basketball team.

As usual Nike has done a good job of promoting this important cause by creating an impressive Pink collection of t-shirt, basketball and two sneakers all sporting the Yow drive to fight cancer logo.

Nike had released the two aforementioned kicks officially at all 3 locations of the House of Hoops in February; now with word on Ms. Yow's passing these Kobe Zoom IV have also surfaced to commemorate her accomplishments in promoting both women's basketball at the collegiate level and also spearheading Breast Cancer awareness/research on a national level.

Truly a fighter both courtside and in life Yow represents young, modern women well and her efforts are truly deserving of recognition on currently the most recognizable of popular culture platforms, the Kobe IV (that I for one could not have imagined being released in Pink if it weren't for this connection to such a worthy charity).

These shoes have not been released at the retail level as of yet however given the previous HOH's project don't be surprised if they receive the same treatment when the time is right.
